COVID-19 and Healthcare Workers

During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic (May/June 2020), with Dr. Jody Ralph (Nursing), Dr. Laurie Freeman (Nursing), and Dr. Kendall Soucie (Psychology), we interviewed 36 Registered Nurses living in Canada and working in American or Canadian hospitals.

Read an interview with the CBC about the project or an article in The Conversation by our team about initial findings.

During the second wave of the pandemic in Ontario (December 2020), our team also created and deployed a survey to Canadians working in hospitals asking about stress, anxiety, and depression as well as use of support programs. Check out our infographic created by Yiu-Yin Chang and Olivia Morassutti.

One year later (June 2021), we completed follow-up interviews with 19 of our original interviews. See the Windsor Star's article covering our findings.

Our original work was funded by a grant from the WE Spark Health Institute and the University of Windsor.
